After 65 years, the Greensboro Oratorio Singers group has disbanded. We wish to thank everyone who has supported our group for the past 65 years, everyone who shared their voices, their ears, or other gifts with us. Singing to a packed house at our last Messiah performance was a great way to end. Thank you for 65 years of support!
Since 1951, Greensboro Oratorio Singers has provided a unique opportunity for singers who want to learn and perform the best in choral music, and advance the quality and appreciation of sacred music in the community. Members are also able to increase their repertoire and experience beyond the opportunities normally available in local church choirs, and experience performing with outstanding professional soloists and instrumentalists, while improving their own vocal technique.
Membership is open to all interested singers who are willing to participate in the regular rehearsals and concerts. No auditions are required. For more information, please contact us.
Rehearsals are held Monday evenings at 7:30 p.m., from January through April, and in September and October, at Friendly Avenue Baptist Church, 4800 West Friendly Avenue in Greensboro. In November and December, we rehearse and present our annual performance of Handel’s Messiah.

Every year singers from the community participate with GOS to bring quality musical performances that lift the spirit. All of the singers in the chorus pay a fee for the privilege of singing, but this does not come close to covering the expenses. If you would like to support this gift to the community, click here.
