Thank you, thank you! to everyone who came and sang at the first Messiah rehearsal this past Monday, October 26. This rehearsal went very well. We do have space for additional singers, especially tenors. I know that some of you were unable to attend this first rehearsal and plan to be present at the second rehearsal. If you are planning to sing with the group this year, please attend this coming Monday, November 2
The practice location again this year is at Mt. Pisgah UMC on the corner of Battleground Avenue and Pisgah Church Road, across from Lowe’s. Parking is available on both sides of the church building. Remaining practices will be on November 2, 9, 16, and 23. Registration begins at 7:00 pm, with practice beginning promptly at 7:30. The registration fee is $25; scores will be available for purchase for $10. Singers must register no later than November 2 to sing this year and attendance at the dress rehearsal is mandatory. The dress rehearsal is scheduled for Tuesday, December 1, at the Carolina Theatre in downtown Greensboro. The performance is scheduled for Thursday, December 3, at the Carolina Theatre.
Looking forward to seeing everyone this coming Monday at Mt. Pisgah UMC. Bring a friend who sings with you!

On Sunday, May 24, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Forest Lawn Cemetery, there will be a Memorial Day service sponsored by American Legion Auxiliary Unit 53 that honors those local members of the military, active and retired, who died this past year. GOS members are invited to come sing, as a group, familiar patriotic songs such as “America the Beautiful” and “God Bless America.” Music will be provided when you arrive on Sunday. As this event is scheduled on a holiday weekend, I am aware that some of you will be traveling. We will need enough volunteers to cover all of the voice parts. If you are in town and willing, please be at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3901 Forest Lawn Drive, by 1:40pm. If you can, please wear red, white, and blue. Here is a link with information about Forest Lawn Cemetery and giving directions: http://www.greensboro-nc.gov/index.aspx?page=1113
